Breaking News

Compounded Tirzepatide is no longer available nationwide

FDA News

On October 2, 2024, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officially removed tirzepatide, the active ingredient in medications like Mounjaro® and Zepbound®, from the drug shortage list.

This change means that compounding pharmacies are now prohibited from producing tirzepatide under federal regulations.

Due to this update, Achieve Weight Goals can no longer facilitate access to pharmacies for compounded tirzepatide prescriptions.

We understand that this may be concerning, especially for those who have relied on this option as part of your weight loss journey. However, we want to reassure you that our team is fully committed to providing you with a smooth transition and continuing your access to other effective treatment options.

Why is this happening?

Tirzepatide has been a highly effective and popular option for weight loss. However, due to recent FDA updates, we are no longer able to offer compounded versions of tirzepatide.

The FDA only allows compounding when a medication is officially in shortage, and now that the tirzepatide shortage has been resolved, compounding pharmacies must stop producing it.

We understand that this change may be frustrating, but it’s important to note that the FDA’s regulations are designed to ensure the safety and integrity of the medications available to patients. While compounded tirzepatide is no longer an option, we are ready to help you transition to alternative treatments.

As always, transparency is key, and this information was outlined in your patient consent forms so you could make informed decisions throughout your treatment process.
